I’m very exited and highly chuffed to have got under the radar of the skeptics with the 3 hour show on LBC 97.3 radio Friday nights 10.00pm to 1.00am.
My favorite is Derren Brown’s best selling book Tricks of the Mind. Derren Brown, for those of you who don’t know, is a mind expert. Shamefully, he doesn’t seem to be putting his experience to good use. Anyone knows that the memory can be a weak tool and one not to be relied upon, especially when it’s your friend’s memory and not your own.
Below is an extract from Derren’s book followed by the real transcript of what was said on the show, taken from the podcast:

Most people don't take psychics seriously, and may find all this self-evident. But some poor souls take psychics very seriously indeed, and many become reliant on them for advice or a sense of well-being. Perhaps that’s their own silly fault. Quite possibly. LBC Radio broadcasts, to their
shame, a 'psychic hour' across London every Friday. A friend telephoned me to describe one exchange between the featured medium and, some poor soul who
had called the station. This is exactly as my friend remembers it, and he swears blind he's not exaggerating for comic effect:
CALLER: I have a house with a piano. Often at night, we'll suddenly hear a note being played - High C - coming from the piano. We do have a lot of cats,* but it's not any of them as the lid is down. Do you know what that could be?
MEDIUM: Well, there's a couple of things it could be. A friend of mine is a piano-tuner, and he says that often, especially when the weather is getting hot, as it is at the moment, the internal workings of the piano can expand a
little and cause a string here and there to pull at its hammer, which will result in a note being sounded. Apparently that can happen.
CALLER (unconvinced): Right, yeah, maybe ...
MEDIUM: Or, you see, the High C note is a very resonant note energy-wise and will vibrate the chakras in the house, causing the fairies to sing. So it could be that too.
CALLER (delighted): Wow... yes, that sounds right. I mean perhaps it could be the strings expanding - sounds a bit far-fetched but great, thank you, yes, 1 think you're right. Thank you so much.
Causing the fairies to sing. Exchanges such as this make me wonder how anyone could even begin to take these 'psychics' seriously. It's genuinely funny until you realize that this same brazen cow will presumably offer
herself for a reasonable fee to get in touch with a child you may have lost and desperately miss.
What the truth is of what was said on The Psychic Show LBC 97.3 08/07/06
Caller Sue in Gravesend: This is something I haven’t been able to explain, not because of the experience itself but because I don’t know what it means. I live in a small cottage and I have a big piano near the kitchen the down stairs is one big room.
I’m in bed one night falling asleep, I hear two top c’s on the piano, I have cat’s but the lid is closed, no way they could get into it. They weren’t there. I mean I’m not worried about the psychic side it’s the explanation of why two tope C’s on my piano.
Becky: I have a few different explanations so we can run through all of them. And work out which one fits. When I was growing up we have a piano in the front room and it played itself, My Mum always used to say ‘why can’t it play a tune’.
Sue: I had a psychic piano that played tunes.
Becky: Really? I wouldn’t mind if a piano would play a tune.
Sue: No ours just played odd notes.
Becky: Yes, There are two things one is that when the strings of a piano are changing temperature they can expand or shrunk, I was told this by a piano tuner. They will make a sound because of that.
Chris: There is tension on the strings.
Becky: Yes, I know that might not be the explanation you were looking for.
Sue: I will ask my piano tuner.
Becky: Yes do. That is something I was told when our piano played itself. And I have looked into it since then.
The other thing is, when a piano plays a note especially a high note, all of the other strings around that note resonate to the same frequency.
Sue: Yes I know that
Becky: When we are getting in to the high C’s it is a more resonate vibration to the top chakras. For example if you imagine an angel singing….
Sue: An angel?
Becky: If you were to imagine it, and some people don’t believe in angels, the singing will always be a very high pitch resonance.
It could be that there is a being of a higher vibration and resonate that is making the piano resonate to that being.
Sue: That’s incredible. I have a strong belief in guardian angels.
Becky: It could be an angelic form trying to let you know that they are around. Had you been asking for evidence? Such as a white feather?
Sue: Yes I did ask
Becky: So, that would be your evidence that the piano is resonation a high C.
Chris: What did you ask for?
Sue: That is incredible
Chris: What did you do to bring it on?
Sue: It may have been around the time I asked for a white feather.
Chris: It may have been, you must be sure.
Becky: The thing is your so busy Sue if they dropped you a white feather you are likely to rush past and it would be blown up in the wind behind your ankles as you pass by it. So they used the piano.
Sue: Well that would resonate with me as I am very much into music (Opera singer).
Becky: There you go there is your evidence top let they know they are around you. Thank you Sue, for your call.
Chris: Thanks Sue, lets call that an explanation rather than evidence.
So you can see the corrections needed in his book.
I would also like to point out that, as always, I came up with the logical rather than a paranormal explanation first.
Below is a selection of correspondence from myself to Derrens agents and other people, also from my producer Lucy to them. I have also talked to James Cooper (or ‘Coops’ as Derren calls him) on the phone, trying to get Derren to come on the radio show.
Maybe he will now he has a book to promote.
So here I ask again.
DERREN BROWN, YOU ARE WELCOME TO COME ON TO THE SHOW. MY SHOW IS LIVE AND I AM ALWAYS ACCESSIBLE TO SKEPTICS AND BELEVERS. You have now raised doubts in those who believe in you, if you are lying about this in your book and I can prove it, what else in your book isn’t the truth?!!!

Sorry to address you both, my e-mail is to Derren but I am sure James
will read the mail first.
My names Becky Walsh and I'm a psychic medium who surprisingly
completely supports Derren's work.
I really loved Messiah, I though it was well thought though and put
together carefully.
Being a medium, most people would think I would be offended in some
way, I am often asked what I think of Derren's work.
The people who scare me most, aren't the skeptics, but those who
blindly believe.
There truly are some mediums that are full of.... rubbish. Derren's
work shines a spot light on those people, which means the true mediums
have to pull their socks up to give undeniable proof and evidence of
life after death.

Unfortunately, due to his current tour commitments and work on his book, he is unavailable to do this interview. Also, we have just completed a media campaign to launch his new series and there are no plans for more PR activity until next year.
