To spoil the fun, we got clairvoyant, Becky Walsh to tell us what's going to happen...

First of all, how do the ghosts see Sven's boys fairing in Portugal?

A lot better than expected. We won't win it, but I do see the number three figuring strongly. Whether that means we'll come third or lose by three goals I don't know. But it's definitely the number three.

If you're already writing our lot off, who's going to win it then?

France are going to win it. That may not be a huge surprise but that's what my spirit guide tells me.

Who will be the top scorer in the tournament?

I get a strong feeling about the letter B. I thinks it's a foreign name, I can see a player with long hair, possibly blond, that sticks out from behind his ears. His hair is held back with an Alice band. (At the time of Becky's prediction, Beckham still had long hair).

Must be Mr Beckham then. Will England need to take penalties?

One of our aggressive players will give away an important penalty by kicking out at an opponent or by doing something similar. It seems unfair because the retaliation will be almost justified. I don't see us needing to go to penalty shoot-out though.

Thank Christ for that. Any more interesting predictions for us?

All I can say is that it's the year of the underdog. Keep an eye on the eastern Europeans and countries like Denmark and Sweden. I think there could be some surprises. I also see a key England player picking up a serious injury, and we should also keep an eye on the hosts, Portugal.

Finally, will there by any crowd trouble during the tournament?

The area surrounding the grounds will be well monitored, very lightly patrolled, almost regimental. However, away from the ground, I see a huge fight in a street lined with bars and pubs. The trouble won't be reported, though, because it has nothing to do with football. The organisers are afraid of what will happen if it is made public, so you may not read about the full extent of the hostilities.

You can gain Becky's insight on a variety of things through her website at www.lightofspririt.co.uk and she also has a radio show coming up on London's LBC radio station, 97.3FM.

B-Yootiful!

Just Wanted to say cheers to Loaded for helping me win £500. After reading your psychic's guide to Euro 2004 which said someone whose name began with B and had long hair pushed behind his ears would be top scorer (July 2004, issue 123) I put a tenner on Milan Baros at 50/1.
